Boom Boy

On a lonely rainy day,
A lonely little boy
sings Boom Boom Boom
On the vinyl kitchen floor.
Cliffs of cabinets,
Pantry shelves
Of box-houses
Surround him and his
single-member Boom Boom
Booming band
As he imagines
Tiny people living there,
Trembling in fear
At his booming booming voice
singing Boom Boom Boom.
The litter box and Clorox shake,
And the broom can’t stand the
Boom Boom Boom
And the dustpan lying
Near by trembles while holding all
The people swept away
Who look for god
In thunderous waves
of a Boom Boom Booming
Boy’s lonely rainy day.
